The Snowking's Winter Festival has been two decades of frosty fun and frozen smiles. Each year in March, a winter wonderland is created on Yellowknife Bay where the Snowking and his northern helpers raise up one of Yellowknife and the NWT's proudest monuments - the Snowcastle. Erected and built out of the frozen waters and white powder snow of Great Slave Lake, the Snowcastle becomes a month long bastion of community spirit, collaboration, innovation in the arts, and entertainment for young and old
This is the place where the spirit of winter wonderment from our childhood reigns supreme. On any given day, the castle might host a children’s play, followed by an art exhibit, a film festival and finishing the night off as a dance club.
Upon arrival, contact us and pick up access tickets to the castle. Make your way to the castle, where the Snowking will provide you in depth history to the making of the Snowcastle. If you wish, you can partake in a Yellowknife sightseeing tour that passes by the castle.
